Uno de los lugares que quería visitar lo antes posible
era París, conocida como la ciudad de la luz o del amor, pero lo más
importante, al menos para mí, es todo lo que ha hecho que esta increíble ciudad
sea como sea: sucesos importantísimos que la han hecho ser el eje central de
nuestra historia.
Estuve en París junto con Roberto en el verano de
2011, y en este post, vengo a hablaros sobre el lugar de está vibrante ciudad
que más me sorprendió: el famosísimo barrio de Montmartre.
Montmartre es una colina de 130 metros de altura
situada en la orilla derecha del río Sena, en el XVIII Distrito de París. El
barrio fue cuna de los impresionistas, de la bohemia parisina del siglo XIX e
importante teatro de batallas durante la Guerra Franco-Prusiana y la Comuna.
¿Y por qué me sorprendió este barrio? La verdad, es
que en la bulliciosa París, se puede decir que Montmartre es un barrio de lo más
tranquilo, donde ir paseando y descubriendo cada uno de sus hermosos lugares,
se convierte en una experiencia muy agradable: la subida por sus calles
empinadas, el blanco impoluto del Sacre Coeur, la plaza de los pintores, el
Moulin Rouge…
Dos de las cosas que más me gustaron ver fue, primero
la panorámica de la ciudad desde allí, donde se puede ver la torre Eiffel en
todo su esplendor destacando sobre el resto de edificios. Y segundo, el muro
del amor, un muro que tiene escrito en todos los idiomas del mundo “Te quiero”,
y del cual nunca había oído hablar hasta ese momento. Un lugar excelente para
el romanticismo que envuelve a París.
Como anécdota (un viaje sin anécdotas no es un viaje)
os contaré como conseguimos ver el espectáculo de Moulin Rouge, ya que yo
estaba obsesionada con verlo. Le preguntamos a nuestra guía como podíamos
comprar entradas para asistir al espectáculo y nos dijo que lo mejor era
acercarse a las taquillas y preguntar, pero para nuestra sorpresa las taquillas
estaban cerradas. Entonces nos dimos cuenta que girando la esquina donde se
encuentra el Moulin Rouge hay una pequeña tienda perteneciente a la compañía.
Entramos y pregunté, en el poco inglés que hablaba por entonces, como podíamos
ir al espectáculo. La mujer que nos atendió muy amable nos preguntó nuestros
nombres y los apuntó en una tarjeta y nos dijo que esa tarjeta era nuestra
entrada para al día siguiente asistir al primer pase del espectáculo y que lo
pagaríamos en la entrada. La verdad es que nos fuimos bastante incrédulos. Pero
a la noche siguiente nos presentamos allí, y después de hacer una inmensa cola,
nos dejaron entrar solo enseñando esa tarjeta. Nos acomodaron, nos sirvieron
una botella de champagne y por último nos cobraron. Alucinados nos quedamos con
la organización y el espectáculo, totalmente recomendable.

I was in Paris together with Roberto in the summer of 2011, and in this post, I come to tell you about the place of this vibrant city that most surprised me: the famous Montmartre neighborhood.
Montmartre is a 130-meter-high hill located on the right bank of the River Seine in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The quarter was the cradle of the Impressionists, the bohemian Parisian of the nineteenth century and important theater of battles during the Franco-Prussian War and the Commune.
And why did this neighborhood surprise me? The truth is that in bustling Paris you can say that Montmartre is a quiet neighborhood, where you go walking and discovering each of its beautiful places, it becomes a very pleasant experience: the climb up its steep streets, The pure white of the Sacre Coeur, the square of the painters, the Moulin Rouge ...
Two of the things I liked to see was, first the panoramic view of the city from there, where you can see the Eiffel Tower in all its splendor standing out over the rest of buildings. And second, the wall of love, a wall that has written in all the languages of the world "I love you", and which I had never heard of until that moment. An excellent place for the romanticism that surrounds Paris.
As an anecdote (a trip without anecdotes is not a trip) I will tell you how we got to see the Moulin Rouge show, since I was obsessed with seeing it. We asked our guide how we could buy tickets to attend the show and he said that it was best to approach the lockers and ask, but to our surprise the lockers were closed. Then we noticed that around the corner where the Moulin Rouge is located there is a small shop belonging to the company. We went in and asked, in the little English that spoke then, how we could go to the show. The woman who greeted us very friendly asked our names and pointed them on a card and told us that that card was our ticket for the next day to attend the first show pass and that we would pay at the entrance. The truth is that we went quite unbelieving. But the next night we showed up there, and after making a huge queue, they let us in just showing that card. They accommodated us, we were served a bottle of champagne and finally they charged us. Alucined we were left with the organization and the show, totally recommendable.
